Like a uto motor und sport learned from corporate circles that the next VW Caddy to hit the market in May will consume around 15 percent less fuel than the current model. At only six kilograms, the new car has lost practically no weight.
The new VW Caddy continues to use the platform of the current model, but has been heavily revised by VW Commercial Vehicles chief developer Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler. Above all, the new car is noticeably quieter, which will be particularly pleasing to commercial drivers.
More assistance systems for the VW Caddy
Rothenpieler was able to reduce fuel consumption through changes to the body and new engines to reach. The drag coefficient has dropped significantly, and the VW Caddy now has a completely new engine family (Euro 6). Better aerodynamics and new engines have reduced fuel consumption by 15 percent. As a diesel, the Caddy now achieves a standard consumption of under 4 l /100 km. The Caddy is also available with a natural gas turbo in combination with a dual clutch gearbox (DSG).
The model is also technically improved by assistance systems such as drowsiness warning, park steering assistant, multi-collision brake and city emergency brake assistant.
