N after the hefty shock last month, the car market was in Germany up again in November. Above all, thanks to the willingness to buy among private customers, the bottom line is a plus, because the proportion of new commercial registrations remained unchanged compared to the same month last year. In this happy market, however, not everyone can laugh without exception, because in addition to the rather insignificant Citroën luxury offshoot DS, there are three other manufacturers who have lost noticeable sales figures in the past eleven months: Smart, VW and Jeep.

Jeep is dismantling

This is a bit surprising, especially with Jeep, because while SUVs increased by 23 percent and SUVs by 10 percent, the legendary brand cut back by 20 percent in November. 62,520 off-road vehicles and SUVs were registered for the first time in November, but only 1,107 came from the inventor of this type of vehicle. A closer look clarifies the causes. The Jeep Wrangler has lost almost 50 percent compared to the previous year. Here it is primarily production bottlenecks, because the US market absorbs practically the entire production capacity, for Europe there is only a homeopathic allocation that does not correspond to demand. The second negative candidate is the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The brand's flagship, the model with the highest sales in Europe, will receive a facelift with new variants for the coming year, and the current delivery situation is correspondingly weak.

A look at VW, where there was another minus in November . This is caused by the two heavyweights, the Golf and Passat. The Tiguan, on the other hand, remains unaffected by this trend and celebrates a solid plus of a whopping 25 percent in November. And as a technology donor, he ensures another best seller. The Seat Ateca continues to storm up the table and almost reached the 2,000 mark in November - with a share of private customers of around 68 percent.

Toyota and Seat strong in November

Naturally, the new addition in November will not manage that, because almost all of the 437 Toyota C-HR registered for the first time had a commercial owner stamped on the papers. Nevertheless, Toyota has great hopes for the crossover C-HR, which is to score points with the technology of the current Prius, especially in its hybrid version. The successes of theToyota RAV4 (+ 93% in November, especially thanks to the hybrid models) seem to give this hope right.

Overall, too, it was primarily models from importers that scored points in November, especially in the Compact SUV. The Suzuki Vitara was able to more than double its previous year's figures, the Outlander, which is immensely important for Mitsubishi, recorded an increase of more than 70 percent.

Rescue from the niche

What enormous importance an SUV especially for The luxury labels Jaguar and Maserati are examples of smaller manufacturers. The F-Pace and Levante, although only available for a few months, are by far the best-selling models of their brands. This is especially true for Mazda, where the CX-3 and CX-5 account for well over half of brand sales, but for these two things went in reverse in November.
