New registrations: The top 50 in 2015

A is calculated at the end - this is also the case in the new registration statistics of the Federal Motor Transport Authority. The year is closed with the reporting month of December, all the figures are available - time to take stock.

This is hardly surprising for the top seller of the year. It was, is and will probably remain the VW Golf for a long time. In 2015 the Wolfsburg-based Golf company was able to put almost 271,000 vehicles on the roads in Germany.

Two Opel in the top 10

The runner-up, the VW Passat, only got a little more than a third of the Golf registrations. In contrast, the VW Polo in third place can only hold its own by a good 2,300 units ahead of the Mercedes C-Class. The ongoing SUV boom puts the VW Tiguan in 5th place. The strongest import model is the Skoda Octavia, which is very thin in front of the Audi A3. The top 10 bestsellers in 2015 are completed by the two Opel models Astra and Corsa as well as the Audi A4.

The BMW model with the most registrations is the 1 Series in 12th place. Ford achieves its best position with the Fiesta in 13th place. Seat made it to 18th place with the Leon, Mini rolled into 19th place. The sales success of the Fiat 500 family culminated in 23rd place.

The best-listed Japanese in the annual balance sheet is the Nissan Qashqai, which found itself in 30th place. The Koreans from Hyundai landed a double hit with i30 and Tucson in 32nd and 33rd places. France only came in at 41st place with the Clio.
