D he Italian new car market has 2015 with a Plus of 15.75% completed. A total of 1,574,872 cars were registered for the first time in Italy in the past year. At the top of the favor of the Italians is of course an Italian car manufacturer - Fiat, which has a market share of 20.9%. VW in second place is clearly lagging behind with 119,003 new registrations and a market share of only 8.11%. The third force in Italy is Ford with 109,250 new registrations and a market share of 6.73%.

The top 50 bestsellers are mainly composed of small cars, compact models and compact SUVs. Larger models can only be found in the top 50 with the VW Passat and the BMW 3 Series.

Panda, Punto and Ypsilon on the podium

The 4 best-selling models in Italy all come from the Fiat group. At the forefront remains the undisputed Fiat Panda. Behind them, the Fiat Punto and the lancia Ypsilon deliver a close race. The Fiat 500L follows somewhat behind. The first non-Italian is the VW Golf in 5th place, just ahead of the Renault Clio. The top 10 are completed by the Fiat 500, the Ford Fiesta, the VW Polo and the Fiat 500X.

The first premium model is the Audi A3 in 25th place. The Mercedes A-Class is in 25th place 32 listed. 37th place sees the VW Passat, the best-placed mid-range model. Newly entered the top 50 are the Mercedes B-Class and GLA models on the list positions 46 and 48, as well as the BMW 3 Series on position 50.
