Palace revolution in small cars. The subscription winner VW Polo had to settle for second place behind the new front runner Opel Corsa in September. Third place went to the Ford Fiesta. No change in the compact class either. The VW Golf remains first, with the Mercedes A-Class and the Opel Astra taking the other places this month.
Mercedes CLS takes over luxury class
VW Passat before Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4 is the order in the Middle class. With the BMW 3 Series, buyers seem to be lurking for the successor and are exercising reluctance to buy.
On the other hand, the upper middle class sees the BMW 5 Series at the forefront again in September. Behind the Bayer come the Mercedes E-Class and the Audi A6. In the upper class, the Mercedes CLS displaces the BMW 7 Series from the top. Mercedes SLK remains king of sports cars
The best-selling sports car in September was again the Mercedes SLK, which is its corporate brother, the Mercedes E-Class Coupé relegated to second place again. Third strongest force was the Porsche 911. In the minivans, the Opel Meriva stayed ahead of the Nissan Qashqai. The new third was the Seat Altea.
VW Touran is also the king of large vans in September. Between him and his corporate brother Sharan, however, the Opel Zafira moved up to second place. When it comes to utilities, the VW Caddy continues to take the lead ahead of the VW T5. The Ford Transit Connect came in third. The Fiat Ducato remains the most popular motorhome chassis in September, followed by the Ford Transit and the VW T5.
