B ei the small car, the 'old' order is back in June manufactured. The VW Polo regained its almost accustomed first place from the May surprise winner Opel Corsa - albeit a narrow margin with less than 600 new registrations.

New car registration: Opel Astra loses

There was also a shift in the compact class. The VW Golf is the undisputed number 1, but second place was conquered this month by the BMW 1 Series, which clearly put the subscribers in their place in second place - the Opel Astra.

In In the middle class, the BMW 3-series and the Mercedes C-class swap places behind the VW Passat. While in the upper middle class models, the Audi A6 was able to sell the BMW 5 Series in June. This also had to admit defeat to the Mercedes E-Class.

The Nissan Qashqai is also spreading among the SUVs. It is celebrating a comeback and with its June registrations comes in second place and throws the BMW X1 out of the top 3.

Upper class is the half-year loser in registrations

Overall, the registrations in June increased by 2.9 percent compared to the same month last year. However, the Federal Motor Transport Authority only recorded a marginal increase in registrations of 0.7 percent compared to the half-year 2001 to 2012.

The half-year winners in the registration segments include the mobile homes (plus 12.7 percent), the minis ( plus 15.6 percent), and the SUV (plus 17.1 percent). The 'loser segments' in the first half of the year are the upper class with minus 17.5 percent, the small cars with minus 6.7 percent and the middle class with minus 5.7 percent.
