New registrations by segment: The bestsellers in September 2015

T he long-term winner among the small cars, the VW Polo, had to be in September cleared his top spot for the Opel Corsa, but was able to keep just ahead of his corporate brother Skoda Fabia. In the upper middle class, the lively chair backing continues in September. In the month under review, the BMW 5 Series was once again ahead of the Audi A6 and the Mercedes E-Class.

Hyundai Tucson dominates the SUV business

The September figures show that the Hyundai ix35 successor Tucson is well received by the public. In the previous month, the Korean was already on the podium in the SUV ranking in September. The Nissan Qashqai and the Opel Mokka follow a long way behind.

The Porsche 911 and the Audi TT have once again swapped places in the sports car segment, with the Swabian leading the way in September. The Ford Mustang is still in third place, but with a strong upward momentum.

In the large-capacity vans, the VW Touran moved up to the top and ousted its brother Sharan to second place. The Seat Alhambra flew out of the top 3, rounded off by the Zafira.

In the Utilities category, the Ford Tourneo could not maintain its previous month's momentum and slipped to third place. The VW bus and the Caddy passed by, dominating the top of the segment.
