In the small car segment, the VW Polo successfully outstripped the Opel Corsa and the Ford Fiesta. The compact class is still dominated by the VW Golf and the modular transverse matrix. After the Wolfsburg bestseller, the Audi A3 and the Skoda Octavia were able to line up in the annual balance sheet.
Mercedes dominates luxury class and athletes
Despite a good run of the Mercedes C-Class, the VW Passat is at the top of the segment in the middle class at the end of the year. The BMW 3 Series then follows in third place behind the Benz. It was razor-thin in the upper middle class. In the end, the Audi A6 was just ahead of the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes E-Class.
The automotive luxury class in Germany is clearly below the star. First was the outstanding S-Class from Mercedes, followed by the CLS from the same company. Third place went to the Audi A8. The Opel Mokka has become a bestseller among SUVs. It is followed by the Ford Kuga and the BMW X1. A VW is not at the start in this segment.
The VW Tiguan is listed among the off-road vehicles and clearly dominates the segment here. The Audi duo Q3 and Q5 follow by a long way. The bestseller among sports cars is the Mercedes E-Class Coupé run by KBA here, which was just ahead of the Porsche 911 in the annual balance sheet. The podium is completed by the Mercedes SLK. Mercedes is also clearly dominant in the mini vans. Here the B-Class stands in front of the Opel Meriva and the Scénic from Renault. The VW Touran is way ahead in the large-capacity vans. It is followed by the Opel Zafira and the VW Sharan.
