N he's in our flop 50 ranking - the new BMW 8 Series. With 105 new registrations, the Bavarian sports coupé is in 50th place on the hit list, but should have outgrown the list by the coming month. At the very other end of the ranking are the Lexus LS, Rolls-Royce Ghost, VW Phaeton and the Aston Martin DB9 and Vanquish models, each with just one new registration. With these models, two reasons for the low number of new registrations are already documented - newly introduced vehicles as well as models that have already been deleted from the range and are only left in the trade as remnants.

And then there are models, which are simply not popular with customers, and therefore do not come up to speed, or just models that target a very exclusive customer base and are accordingly designed for small quantities.

Strong Lambo Aventador

Otherwise spoiled almost exclusively with bestsellers, VW added two models - the Scirocco and the Jetta - to the flop 50 list - both of which have already been deleted from the range. The Japanese luxury car manufacturer Lexus is represented here with almost its entire range. As a small series manufacturer, Alpina lives up to its positioning and only supplies small series to the market.

A Lamborghini Aventador stands out, with 79 new registrations almost on par with an Alfa Romeo Mito or a Porsche Cayman . In terms of approval, the Mercedes SL and the Peugeot 508, the Toyota Prius and the Mercedes GLS or the Nissan 370Z and the Fiat Fiorino, for example, are on par.

You can see all the models from our list in the picture gallery, the top 10 in the table below.

Note: The registration statistics are the official information from the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg. The division into the respective classes is carried out by the manufacturer using a key number. The statistics can also show models that are not available on the German market or that are no longer being built. This peculiarity can occur with the KBA statistics if e.g. foreign vehicles are registered in Germany for the first time or vehicles have a new ID number. received.
