D he new registrations for the past month of April 2018 are available and fast it becomes clear: Aha! But there are plenty of newcomers! Whether Tesla Model S and X, Toyota Landcruiser or Alpine A110 - the names of the Flop-50 could hardly be better known.

But above all owners of real exotic cars such as the VW Jetta, which was only registered twice in April, or one of six licensed Toyota Corollas can be found in the ranks of Aston Martin V12 (3) or the two Rolls-Royce brothers Ghost and Phantom (4 each). The number one new registration flops in April was shared by the Aston Martin Vanquish and the BMW Z4. With almost 100 times as many registrations, 90 to be more precise, another newcomer just slipped to last place: Seat Toledo.

Discontinued models alternate with their successors

Exciting but also in midfield. Because who would have thought that a Lamborghini Aventador with 41 new registrations would overtake a Subaru Levorg with 36 or a Toyota GT 86 with 40 new registrations? Discontinued models such as the first-placed BMW Z4, a VW Scirocco (12) or a Skoda Yeti (56) fill the list, as do the usual suspects from Ferrari with the discontinued model California (2) and its successor Portofino (4).

You can see all models from our list in the picture gallery!

Note: The registration statistics are the official information from the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg. The division into the respective classes is carried out by the manufacturer using a key number. The statistics can also show models that are not available on the German market or that are no longer being built. This peculiarity can occur with the KBA statistics if e.g. foreign vehicles are registered in Germany for the first time or vehicles have a new ID number. received.
