A were launched on the French market in 2013 1,790,456 cars registered for the first time. The new car market in our neighboring country thus shrank by 5.7% compared to the previous year and remained a total of around 1.2 million cars below the German new car market. While the VW Golf dominates almost all charts in this country, the picture is different in France. France buys mostly French.

Renault Clio and Peugeot 308 represented twice

Top seller in France was in In 2013 the new Renault Clio found 103,172 buyers and thus had a market share of 5.8%. The Peugeot 208 follows in second place. The podium is filled with the Citroën C3. With the Scénic and the Mégane, two Renault models follow in 4th and 5th place. The strongest import model is the Dacia Sandero in 6th place. The top 10 bestsellers in France are rounded off by the Renault Captur, the VW Polo, the Renault Twingo and the Peugeot 3008.

Are you missing the VW Golf? It only ranks 12th in the French top 50 list, just ahead of the first Japanese - the Toyota Yaris. The strongest Ford is the Fiesta at 17, the most popular Opel the Corsa at 24th. Italy intervenes with the Fiat 500 at 28th place. The Audi A3 with the highest output was the 31st, ahead of the Mercedes A-Class on 32nd and the BMW 1er on 35th. The Top 50 are decided by the Seat Ibiza.

Another remarkable thing: the Renault Clio is not only in first place , but can also be found in 26th place in the top 50 with the previous generation. The Peugeot 308 also appears twice in the top 50, ranking 19th and 33rd.
