D the two-door coupé version of the A -Class should especially compete against the VW Scirocco and designed accordingly sporty. The coupé, which is due to hit the market in 2012, will be equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that drives all four wheels and has more than 300 hp. The Board of Management's resolution for the A-Class Coupé is still pending, but should be made soon.
Minivans, SUVs and sports cars
Some surprises are planning Daimler Development Board Member Thomas Weber and Head of Design Gorden Wagener in the B-Class. Mercedes also wants to continue to offer a compact van that will stand up to the VW Touran. The van is to be presented at the Frankfurt IAA 2011 and then go on sale. According to information from auto motor und sport, the model range also includes a small SUV with the model abbreviation GLC, which will be available with either front or all-wheel drive. The small Mercedes SUV will primarily compete against the X1 from BMW.
The planned four-door coupé based on the B-Class, which is currently being developed under the working title CLC, should attract particular attention. The design of the small sports car is based on the larger CLS and will be presented in 2013. The car will be around 4.60 meters long and will compete against the Audi A5 and BMW 3 Series Coupé. The base price of the CLC should be around 35,000 euros.
