D he gasoline direct injection engine with turbocharging has a maximum torque of 240 Nm, and overboost can even briefly call up 270 Nm. The new engine is combined as standard with a demand-controlled alternator and a shift point display.

Numerous new drive combinations

In the Ford Mondeo, the 1.6-liter consumes an average of 6.4 liters (CO2 : 149 g /km). The sedan has a top speed of 215 km /h, the station wagon has a top speed of 210 km /h. The sprint times are 9.3 and 9.6 seconds, respectively. Installed in the Ford S-Max, the average consumption is 6.8 liters (CO2: 159 g /km), the top speed is 204 km /h and the sprint time is 9.8 seconds. In combination with the Ford Galaxy, the manufacturer specifies an average consumption of 7.2 liters (CO2: 167 g /km). The 160 PS Galaxy should complete the sprint from zero to 100 km /h in 9.9 seconds. The top speed is 201 km /h.

From the beginning of 2011, the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine will be linked to a start-stop system as standard. At this point in time, there is also a 115 hp 1.6-liter turbo diesel that can also be combined with a start-stop system. In the Ford Mondeo Econetic, the new diesel will come with this fuel-saving feature as standard and thus remain below 115 g /km CO2. The new combination of the 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 200 hp and the six-speed automatic transmission, which will also be available from the beginning of 2011, promises more shifting comfort.
