New EU registrations June 2015: The upward trend never ends

I ntotal of 1,364,009 new cars were brought into circulation in the EU. The half-yearly balance of the European automobile manufacturers association ACEA is also clearly positive. With 7,169,98 new registrations after six months, the market is 8.2% up on the previous year. The continuing growth is being driven by growth in almost all markets. Only Finland could not deliver a positive result in June.

Big growth in almost all markets

Significantly upward trend it in June on the volume markets. Germany increases by 12.9% to 313,539 new registrations, France comes with 225,638 new registrations, an increase of 15.0%. Italy grows by 14.4% to 146,682 new registrations, Spain even by 23.5% to 111,333 new registrations. Great Britain has 257,817 new registrations, an increase of 12.9%. The half-year balance also delivers positive figures: Germany (+ 5.2%), France (+ 6.1%), Spain (+ 22.0%), Italy (+ 15.2%), Great Britain (+ 7.0%) .

VW dominates the market

The clear market leader in Europe is and will remain the VW group after six months which accounts for almost a quarter of sales (24.8%). The strongest single brand in the half-year balance sheet is VW with a market share of 12.1%. Ford is number two with a market share of 7.4%. The third force in Europe is Renault with a market share of 7.1%, followed by Opel with 6.9% and Peugeot (6.1%). Audi remains the strongest premium supplier with a market share of 5.4%. BMW comes in at 5.0%, Mercedes at 4.9% and is thus on par with Fiat.

Skoda (4.2%), Nissan (4.1%) and Citroën follow in the other ranks (4.0%), Toyota (3.9%), Hyundai (3.2%), Kia (2.7%) and Seat (2.5%)
