New Audi S8 Plus (IAA 2015)

W if Audi has a model a plus, then there's something under the hood. This is also the case with the new Audi S8 Plus. In order to separate the plus from the normal S8, the four-liter twin-turbo V8 has been increased in performance from 520 hp and 650 Nm to 605 hp and 700 Nm. At times even up to 750 Nm can be called via overboost. The increase in performance is achieved through a modified engine management system, modified exhaust valves and redesigned turbochargers. The eight-cylinder has thus received its highest performance to date.

Audi S8 Plus is allowed to run at 305 km /h

With the fat engine in the bow, the Audi S8 Plus should cover the 100 km /h h mark can tear after just 3.8 seconds. The normal S8 needs 4.1 seconds for this. The maximum speed is still limited to 250 km /h. But the plus wouldn't be a plus if Audi hadn't built in freedom of movement here. On request and for a surcharge, the luxury sedan can run at speeds of up to 305 km /h. The 305 km /h limit is part of the dynamic package and is standard equipment in Germany. In addition to carbon-fiber reinforced ceramic brakes with anthracite-gray brake calipers, it also includes a sport exhaust system with a modified sound. The steering and air suspension have been retuned for the Audi S8 Plus. 21-inch light alloy wheels fitted with 275/35 rollers were designed exclusively for the Plus.

Plus surcharge is over 28,000 euros

In order to also look like a Plus model To be noticed, the Audi S8 Plus has a spoiler lip on the trunk lid. The flaps in the side air inlets and the blade on the front apron are made of carbon. The exterior mirror housings come in black or carbon, the single-frame grille and double struts are glossy black, the honeycomb structure of the side air inlets and the radiator grille are matt black. The trim strips on the side windows and rear shine in black, the taillights are darkened and the diffuser insert is made in glossy black with a carbon clip. The twin-pipe sports exhaust system ends in two oval glossy black tailpipes on the left and right. Those who like understatement can also get the Plus in the S8 optics.

Red put in the interiorDecorative stitching and red elements in the applications accents in the otherwise black ambience. The Audi S8 Plus is only available with a normal wheelbase from November at prices from 145,200 euros. The plus package therefore costs 28,300 euros more than the normal S8.
