D ie three companies confirmed the takeover on Monday (3.8.2015). As the 'Manager Magazin' previously reported, all other interested parties had withdrawn from the sales process. The rumored purchase price of 2.5 billion euros is well below the previously estimated price of 4 billion euros. The three partners will each take over HERE in equal parts, none of them want a majority in HERE. Subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities, the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016.

The navigation maps from Nokia Here are very detailed and accurate and therefore form a good basis for future mobility scenarios. With the purchase, the availability of HERE's products and services as an open, independent and value-adding platform for cloud-based maps and mobility services is to be permanently secured - accessible to all customers from the automotive industry and other sectors. On the basis of the common raw data, all automobile manufacturers can offer their respective customers differentiated and brand-specific services. In addition, the car manufacturers want to reduce their dependence on Google and Apple.
