So now it's official: Johann Zarco has decided to switch decided to join KTM. There was already speculation about a change at the Austin GP. However, nothing was confirmed at the time. This has changed now. KTM has officially confirmed the commitment of the former Moto2 champion. The Frenchman receives a two-year contract. At the moment the Frenchman is still driving for the Tech3 Yamaha team, which will no longer exist in this form in the coming season. After many years of cooperation, Yamaha and Tech3 part ways. As of the 2019 season, Tech3 will appropriately switch to KTM.

The Spaniard with starting number 44 has been racing for KTM since 2017 and was significantly involved in the development of the MotoGP bike.
