The Morgan Roadster followed the Morgan Plus 8 in 2004, but had to do without the Rover eight-cylinder under the hood and the Plus 8 in the type designation to meet modern emissions standards. With 204 hp, the three-liter Ford engine still lasted more than the old V8, but could not contribute its sound. The three-liter V6 from the Mondeo has had its day for the 2012 model year. At the Geneva Motor Show, the British presented the Morgan R oadster with a new 3.7-liter V6 engine. This comes again from Ford and does its job in the Ford Mustang, among other things. In the Morgan Roadster, the six-cylinder is estimated at 290 hp and a maximum torque of 352 Nm.

Morgan Roadster with six-speed gearbox

This should mean the Morgan The Roadster 3.7 can accelerate from zero to 100 km /h in 5.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 225 km /h. The average consumption should be 9.8 liters per 100 kilometers. The old five-speed gearbox also had to give way to a new manual transmission with six speed levels. A limited-slip differential now works on the rear axle.

Modern elements have also been incorporated into the interior. The redesigned dashboard now features digital displays in addition to the analog instruments. The Morgan Roadster is optionally available with air conditioning. The fabric soft top still opens and closes manually.

In addition to the two-seater, the Morgan Roadster is also available as a four-seater again. The prices for the new models start at 59,900 euros for the two-seater and 64,900 euros for the four-seater.
