Audi Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany

D he design award of the Federal Republic of Germany is the highest official award for design in Germany and will be awarded on February 11, 2011 by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology during a ceremony.
5-series sedan and BMW IAA booth get 'silver'
In addition to the 25 winners in the areas of product design and the 24 winners in communication design, BMW was another car manufacturer that won the silver twice Award - for the 5 Series Sedan and the exhibition stand at the IAA 2009.
For Mercedes this is the fourth victory in the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, also known as the' Design Oscar '. Before that, the Mercedes SL in 2004 and the Mercedes S-Class in 2000/2001 won the coveted prize - in 2008 the Mercedes-Benz Museum received the gold award. There was also the silver award for the 2007 IAA stand.
BMW entered the list of winners with the C1 scooter (2002) and four years later with the BMW 6 Series - various BMW motorcycles also received the design award of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 2010, the kinetic sculpture in the BMW Museum was also awarded gold.
Audi won 2010 with the A5 Coupé
Last year the award went to the Audi A5 Coupé. This is the sixth time that the models from Ingolstadt have received this honor. The Design Oscar went to the Audi A4 Avant in 1996, to the A3 in 1998, to the A2 and A4 in 2002 and to the A8 in 2004.
Other 'mobile award winners: agricultural tractors and fire brigade panthers
The other automobile award winners of the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany are Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Porsche 911 Carrera, VW Lupo and Lamborghini Murciélago.
But not only well-known car models were allowed to adorn themselves with the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany The 'mobile' award winners also include forage harvesters, caravans, farm tractors and the airport fire service truck 'Panther'.
Since 1969, the German Design Council has been awarding awards on behalf of the Ministry of Economics and Technology the award for good design - still under the name 'Gute Form' until 1998. The jury, which is elected for four years, is made up of ten independent jurorsin our photo show.
