Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that certain vehicles from the Citan and T-Class series (BR420) may be missing the airbag information sign on the outside and inside of the passenger sun visor. In this case, the guidance on potential airbag risks associated with the use of rear-facing child restraint systems would only be available in the owner's manual. ,
If a rear-facing child seat on the passenger side is not used in accordance with the instructions, which, due to its specific properties, cannot be detected by the seat occupancy detection system, it cannot be ruled out that the passenger airbag will be triggered in the event of an accident. In this case, the occupant load values for the person in the child seat could increase. In addition, legal requirements could not be met.
