Maximum load volume decreases
T he most pressing question about the new Mercedes E-Class T-Model: What is he swallowing? No, not the aggregates under the bonnet, but the new, sportier hatchback. The answer is: even a euro pallet, even if that is not the type of load that a Mercedes E-Class T-model owner prefers to drive around.
Now, however, more accessible dimensions. The load volume of the E-Class is between 640 and 1,820 liters (predecessor: 695 to 1,950 liters). The new cargo function of the rear bench seat, with which the backrest can be raised by around 10 degrees, provides an additional load volume of 35 liters. In addition, the rear seat back can also be split in a 40:20:40 ratio as standard. Mercedes specifies a maximum load of 745 kg. The double roller blind, which combines the functions of load compartment cover and safety net, is back on board. Thanks to the electric drive, the load compartment cover can automatically move up when it is opened in the loading position. The tailgate is also electrically powered as standard and can also be opened with gesture control if required.
A rail system with fastening elements ensures order in the cargo area. As before, the new T-Model relies on air suspension on the rear axle and automatic level control. A complete air suspension is on the option list.
Trailer drivers will be pleased with the electrically retractable and retractable trailer coupling, which can be hooked up to 2.1 tons. The trailer coupling itself has two additional bolts on the ball neck, on which a suitable bicycle rack can be supported. This allowed the load capacity to be increased to 100 kg and four bicycles.

The first impression is impressive: After the somewhat clumsy, inharmonious predecessor, the after Had to be elaborately lifted for a good three years at the beginning of 2013, the new T-model from Mercedes has become a coherent, dynamic appearance. The similarity to the smaller C-Class is unmistakable, but thanks to the 24 centimeters longer length, the E-Class appears even more elongated and elegant. The photo trolley with the top AMG-Line equipment, including lowering and special front and rear aprons as well as optional 20-inch wheels and night package, is particularly sporty.
It is an E 400 4Matic with a three-liter V6 turbo engine, nine-speed automatic and many other extras that make the station wagon really classy, helpful and good, but quickly for 20,000 euros and more make it more expensive. Only the plain plastic cover in piano lacquer look on the center console and the simple plastic of the seat console don't really fit into this fine ambience. From the Exclusive interior, a decorative man-made leather with contrasting stitching adorns the cockpit and the door panels. At the front there is no difference to the sedan in terms of space, design and functionality, while the headroom at the rear is three centimeters larger thanks to the slightly lower seat and the extended roof. If the glass panoramic sliding roof has been ordered, however, tall occupants can come into contact with the lowered roof lining. And of course you won't sit as relaxed in the long run when the backrest is ten degrees steeper in the so-called cargo position. After all, this increases the standard volume in the cargo area by 35 to 675 liters. Also very practical: The rear backrest can now be split in a 40:20:40 ratio and can be folded flat from the interior or luggage compartment using a pull handle, and the electrically operated tailgate can also be opened and closed by swiveling the foot in conjunction with the keyless entry (extra).
Mercedes E-Class T-Model is getting 'smaller'
The lines of the new Mercedes E-Class T-Model are sportier than its predecessor. The roof slopes more towards the rear, the rear window is flatter. In addition, the standard roof rails have been better integrated into the roof. A roof edge spoiler with an integrated third brake light forms the roof edge. Further features of the rear view of the station wagon are the horizontally aligned, two-part LED rear lights with integrated chrome trim and the wide, chrome-plated handle bar.
Like the E-Class sedan, the station wagon is also available in the Exclusive, Avantgarde and AMG to have. Also from the limousineall assistance and safety systems as well as the equipment and infotainment options. Unlike the sedan, the T-model has reinforcing struts on the main floor and the front end of the bodyshell as well as additional insulation material.
7 engines for market launch
The engine range of the Mercedes E-Class T-model consists of three diesels and four gasoline engines for the market launch in autumn 2016 . The basic diesel is the E 200 d with 150 hp /360 Nm, the E 220 d has 194 hp /400 Nm and the E 350 d has 258 hp /620 Nm. The petrol engines start with the E 200 with 184 hp /300 Nm, followed by the E 250 with 211 hp /350 Nm and the E 400 4Matic with 333 hp /480 Nm. The preliminary top model up to the appearance of the AMG E 63 is the E 43 4Matic with 401 PS and 520 Nm.
The prices for the first four engines have already been determined. Additional motors can now be ordered. (See table for all prices). According to Mercedes, the prices for the new Mercedes E-Class T-model have increased by an average of 1.1 percent compared to the predecessor some equipment elements and prices:

A night package (535.50) is also available for the Mercedes E 43 4MATIC . It includes i.a.
