Mercedes E 350d: Diesel gets larger SCR-Kat

M ercedes withdrew the E 350d from its range on May 2nd. The V6 diesel gets a larger SCR-Kat and therefore has to be re-certified. The Euro 6 emissions standard remains unchanged. The larger SCR catalytic converter is taken over by the rear-wheel drive models from the new 4Matic variant; the all-wheel drive version will appear at the beginning of June.

Improved diesel will start in autumn 2017

Orders for the updated diesel versions could be released in October. Prices start at 55,876 euros for the E 350 d as a sedan, the all-wheel drive version costs at least 58,613 euros. As a T-model, the 350 d starts at 58,667 euros, and as an all-wheel drive combination it is available from 61,404 euros Mercedes is initially bringing the new six-cylinder in-line diesel OM 656 in the S-Class with facelift . The S 350d 4Matic has 286 hp and 600 Nm, the S 400d 4Matic has 340 hp and 700 Nm. The S-Class facelift will be available from July. The E-Class will get the new six-cylinder diesel in early 2018.
