Mercedes C 450 AMG with 367 hp
Z between the series C-Class and the C 63 AMG with the biturbo V8, Mercedes still sees room for another model. With its new sports line from AMG - the GLE 450 AMG was also shown in Detroit - the brand wants to do the same as the BMW M-Performance line.
The Mercedes C 450 AMG 4-Matic will also be available equipped with the 367 hp, double-charged three-liter V6 engine. This has a maximum torque of 520 Nm between 2,000 and 4,200 rpm and is expected to catapult the sedan to 100 km /h in 4.9 seconds. The station wagon needs 0.1 seconds more. The V-Max are regulated 250 km /h in the specifications. On average, the Mercedes C 450 AMG 4-Matic consumes 7.6 liters (station wagon: 7.7 l) per 100 kilometers, the CO2 emissions should be 178 grams per kilometer (station wagon: 180 gr /km).
Visually, the C-Class has been upgraded
The power leads the small AMG-C-Class via 7G-Tronic all four wheels (distribution 33% front /67% rear). However, the automatic transmission can also be shifted manually using the steering wheel paddle. Four driving modes are available to the driver: 'Sport', 'Sport Plus', 'Comfort' and 'Individual'. This allows the chassis, steering and drive train to be adjusted as is known. The engine sound is more robust depending on the mode. Thanks to the automatic start-stop system, cylinder deactivation and coasting function, the Mercedes C 450 AMG 4-Matic keeps its fuel consumption in check. A sports brake system with a diameter of 360 mm on the front axle and 320 mm discs on the hindquarters, however, keeps the propulsion in check.
Visually, the Mercedes C 450 AMG 4-Matic also makes it clear that it is part of the AMG family heard. The front apron is quite striking with new air intakes. At the rear there is a diffuser in the redesigned apron. A spoiler on the trunk lid or on the T-model as a roof edge spoiler complete the sporty look. 18-inch wheels in glossy black and in a five-spoke design can optionally be replaced by 19-inch alloy wheels.

The interior is also sporty. Black leather dominates, red seams create contrasts. Decorative elements provide a further sporty feeling, while the driver and front passenger have sport seatsHold position. Incidentally, the former grips a sports steering wheel in nappa leather with a flattened bottom and looks at a cockpit with red speedometer pointers that could show up to 280 km /h. The Mercedes C 450 AMG 4-Matic will be available from summer 2015. As a price Mercedes calls for the sedan at least 59,976 euros. The T-model is in the sales brochure from 61,642 euros.
