It is cheaper than other McLaren models and should appeal to a new customer base. The new M cLaren 540C, which is celebrating its world premiere at the Shanghai Auto Show, but not: The second model in the' Sports Series 'starts at 160,000 euros, can be ordered immediately and will be delivered from 2016 .

And what do you get in return for less use? The well-known carbon fiber chassis, the 7-speed dual clutch transmission and the 3.8-liter V8 biturbo engine remain. In the McLaren 540C, as the name suggests, this delivers 540 hp and 540 Nm. This means that the 1,311 kg (dry) McLaren 540C should spurt from zero to 100 km /h in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 km /h. The standard consumption, which is specified as 11.1 liters per 100 kilometers, should also be mentioned.
A detailed revised aerodynamics package and a special wheel design (19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear) distinguish the 540C Coupé from the more powerful 570S coupe. The air inlets below the front bumper and the rear diffuser are new. The chassis set-up is also new, with more emphasis on comfort. Still on board are the adaptive dampers, which can be preconfigured in three stages.
The interior of the McLaren 540C comes fully lined with leather, has air conditioning, a navigation system and a touchscreen including voice control for infotainment.
