S UV coupés seem to be in demand. At the time, BMW opened the line with the X6, and Mercedes followed suit much later with the GLE Coupé. At BMW, a class including the X4 followed, and Mercedes is about to go into series production with the GLC Coupé. With the upcoming CX-4, Mazda is also entering this niche, but only on the Chinese market. The Mazda CX-4 is not coming to Europe, but Mazda will launch a CX-6, which is certainly based on the look of the small SUV coupé.

Koreu study as Mazda CX-4 outlook
As was to be expected, the Koreu study at the IAA had largely anticipated the CX-4. The word Koeru means 'to exceed' in Japanese and is intended to include the statement that Mazda wants to leave the usual limits of vehicle segments behind with this model. The Mazda CX-4 has a length of 4.63 meters, a height of 1.53 meters and a width of 1.84 meters. The CX-4 takes over the wheelbase of 2.70 meters from the CX-5. The ground clearance is specified as a good 19 cm
The well-known Mazda grill and a dynamic front apron can be seen on the front of the five-seater. The headlights are designed as LED units. The fenders are exhibited, strong body beads adorn the side view. The ribbon of windows is narrow, the roof runs out towards the rear like a coupé. A small roof spoiler forms the conclusion. Mazda offers the light alloy rims in 17 and 19 inch diameters with tires in the dimensions 225 /65R 17 and 225 /55R 19. Under the sloping tailgate there is space for between 400 and 1,228 liters of luggage. Another is waiting under the cargo area floorStorage compartment.
The engine range of the Mazda CX-4 includes a 192 hp and 252 Nm 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and a 158 hp and 202 Nm two-liter four-cylinder. Both are coupled to a 6-speed automatic. The small gasoline engine can also be interlocked with a manual 6-speed gearbox. All-wheel drive is only available for the 2.5-liter.
The standard equipment also includes the latest safety and assistance systems, which Mazda has combined in the i-Activsense package. The interior design with the free-standing central screen is taken over by the CX-4 from the CX-3. When it comes to multimedia, the CX-4 relies on the latest infotainment generation MZD Connect from the Mazda shelf.
