To mark the anniversary of the Matchbox brand, a wide selection of special models will be available in toy stores this year. There are model cars in seven different Matchbox ranges that refer to the birthday with special details such as the number 70 on the body. Trucks, buses, airplanes and helicopters are also part of the special series.
At the same time, we look to the future. In order to further promote the topic of environmental protection in children's rooms and collectors' showcases, more electric cars will be included in the Matchbox range in the future. There are already replicas of battery-electric models such as the Mazda MX-30 or the Hummer electric pick-up from GMC. Mattel plans to make all toys and their packaging entirely from recycled or recyclable materials or bio-based plastics by 2030.
