D he Lincoln-Zephyr' Scrape 'applies in the customizer scene as one of the most groundbreaking cars of all time. Now it's auctioned in California and could bring up to $ 400,000.

The scrape was formed by former Hot Rod Magazine editor Terry Cook and coachbuilder Ramsey Mosher. The construction, which the two started in 1990, took a total of 5 years and 4,500 hours of work. A 1941 Zephr front was connected to a 39 rear. Of course, the roof was chopped and the body was properly widened and optimized in a teardrop shape. The body can be lowered to the floor using the hydraulic chassis, the first ever to be installed in this form. Under the body sits a 78 Chevrolet Caprice chassis, which was equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 in combination with a three-speed automatic. The interior is based on two-tone leather, a continuous bench, air conditioning and electric windows.

A car like Bo Derek

After its premiere in 1998, the Scrape won numerous awards, graced the covers of various magazines and was even issued by Mattel as a 1:18 Hot Wheels model. The “King of Customizers”, George Barris, ennobled the scrape with the title “Bo Derek - 10, the dream woman”.

The scrape was technically refurbished for a good $ 60,000 and has only played 3,500 miles since then . Now he is waiting for a new owner.
