I Lexus only plays one in Germany Supporting role, but the Japanese are a big hit in other markets. The global bestseller in the Lexus program is the RX SUV. So that it can continue playing this role successfully, it has now been completely reissued. The new Lexus RX will celebrate its premiere at the New York Auto Show.

Lexus RX with changed proportions

A longer wheelbase (2,790 mm) and larger wheels shift the proportions of the new Lexus RX. The 4.89 meter long, 1.90 meter wide and 1.69 meter high Lexus RX should look sportier and also offer more space in the interior. L-shaped LED main headlights set distinctive accents on both sides of the diabolo radiator grille framed by a chrome strip. The fog lights have also been redesigned. The flanks determine the wide flared wheel arches, which are now filled with rims up to 20 inches in size. The darkened C-pillar makes the roof seem to float freely. The L-shaped taillights are not only drawn around to the sides, but also form a light strip running across the entire rear door.

If anyone still believes that Lexus is that bitchy do-gooder with the hybrids, this could change with the appearance of the new RX. In the F-Sport version, the completely newly developed SUV can compete with proven overtaking professionals in terms of malicious appearance. Just because of its mighty Diablo grill with the distinctive grille and the grim-looking headlights. In general, the RX maintains an angular, coupé-like appearance. The sloping rear section therefore also restricts the loading volume, even the entry and view at the rear suffer a little. On the other hand, the Japanese skilfully surfs the foam crown of the currently surging wave of SUV coupés.

It's almost conservative in the front seats. Comfortably padded and electronically animated round instruments are just as unsurprising as the free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard. Most of the functions run as usual via clearly labeled extra buttons, if you want you can fiddle around with the mouse-like controller. A fine gesture to the rear passengers: their seats are electrically adjustable and heated. Which makes it clear that behind the grim face there iswarm-hearted guy.
