D he optical adaptation of the Lexus GS for the 2016 model year is rather marginal. The Diabolo grille is a bit more aggressive and the headlights are now based on bi-LED technology. The lights at the rear have also been modified and the apron slightly retouched.

Two-liter turbo gasoline engine for the Lexus GS
But the most important innovation is under the bonnet. The new universal weapon from Lexus can be found here in the future - the two-liter, four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, which is already available in other series. This produces 245 hp and provides a maximum torque of 350 Nm. It is coupled to an eight-speed automatic. The standard consumption should be 7.9 liters. With the Lexus GS 200t, the Japanese are expanding the GS range downwards. The Lexus GS celebrated its European premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt.
In Germany, the refreshed Lexus GS was offered exclusively as a hybrid for the 2016 model year. The GS 300h and the GS 450h were available. The GS 300h combines a 181 hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder with a 105 kW electric motor. The system performance is specified with 223 HP, the standard consumption with 4.4 liters. The GS 450h relies on a 292 hp 3.5-liter V6 plus 147 kW electric motor. Here the system performance is 345 hp, the standard consumption is 5.9 liters. In both cases, gear changes are made using a CVT transmission. From mid-November 2016, the two-liter, four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine will also be available in Germany in combination with all equipment lines.
