M it the XCode, Lada in Moscow shows a variant derived from the XRay, which is supposed to add a cheaper SUV model to the compact crossover.

XCode as an affordable entry-level SUV

Like the recently introduced Vesta, the Lada XCode carries the typical X design element in the Flanks. In order to meet the requirements of the SUV, the 4.32-meter-long body was raised a bit and provided with plastic planking all around. There are also underride protection elements at the front and rear, metal-look inserts on the side sills and roof arches in a contrasting color. The roof itself is made of glass.

The handles of the rear doors are stylishly hidden in the C-pillars. The rear thrives on the coupé-like finish and the distinctive shoulder areas.

The Russians are pretty covered when it comes to drive technology. It is clear that the XCode should also come with all-wheel drive and turbo engine. The Duster is available with a 1.2-liter turbo gasoline engine with 125 hp and with a 1.5-liter turbo diesel with 109 hp. In the base, however, it should only be enough for front-wheel drive and a 1.6-liter suction gasoline engine with 78 hp.

The interior shows a touchscreen on the dashboard and a fully digital display instrument. In addition, the XCode should be able to integrate smartphones.

The Lada XCode could come onto the market from 2018 at prices starting at around 14,500 euros.
