D The prices start at 24,490 euros, the fully equipped The top version costs around 10,000 euros more. The market launch will take place in April. Standard with the Optima include six airbags, cruise control, music system and a two-zone automatic air conditioning. For a surcharge, the Koreans offer, for example, automatic parking, a lane guidance aid and a heated steering wheel.

The Kia Optima also comes with a hybrid drive

Two motors are available for the 4.85 meter long mid-range sedan Selection: The 2.0-liter direct-injection petrol engine has an output of 170 hp, the 1.7-liter diesel engine with 136 hp. Thanks to an automatic start-stop system, the diesel engine should have CO2 emissions of 113 g /km. The company is also planning to import a roughly 260 hp turbo gasoline engine.

A few months after its market launch, the Kia Optima will be the first car from Korea to be available in Germany with a hybrid drive. In this model variant, which Kia unveiled at the L.A. Auto Show, a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with 168 hp and an electric motor with 30 kW work together (system output 190 hp). According to the information, the average consumption is around 6.2 liters. The Kia Optima Hybrid should be able to drive short distances purely electrically at up to 100 km /h. A lithium polymer battery provides energy for this.

Although every second mid-range vehicle in Europe is a station wagon, the Koreans are only sticking with the sedan for the time being: 'We currently have no capacity for a second model variant,' said one Speaker. In the long term, however, a combination offshoot of the Optima is quite conceivable.
