Karmann roof division: Valmet wants to join Karmann

According to informed circles, there are negotiations between Valmet and Karmann, but no conclusion .

'We do not comment on market rumors,' said a Valmet spokeswoman. A spokesman for the insolvency administrator did not comment on the newspaper report either. He only said that the insolvency administrator was negotiating with several interested parties.

It is about 360 jobs in Osnabrück and in Zary, Poland. Originally, Hermann had won the Karmann competitor Magna as an investor. The Bundeskartellamt had banned the takeover in May. Hermann sold the Karmann convertible roof business for the USA and Mexico to Webasto in the summer.

Valmet has been working with Porsche since 1997 and builds the Boxster for the Stuttgart-based company. The sports car manufacturer canceled the contract in 2008.
