Z back to the origins: like its ancestor Willys, the jeep should Wrangler will again find a presence in tactical use by US authorities and armed forces. Hendrick Dynamics has developed different versions of the Jeep Wrangler for this purpose. The company, based in North Carolina, specializes in the conversion of civil off-road vehicles for military purposes, including specially prepared pickups and ATVs.
Jeep Wrangler Hendrick Commando
The Jeep Wrangler Hendrick Commando follows this philosophy. Hendrick Dynamics uses the extremely off-road Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with reinforced axles, two axle differential locks and the extra-short 4: 1 off-road reduction. The 2.8-liter diesel, which is also known in Europe and is equipped with an automatic transmission, is used as the drive.
Hendrick Dynamics uses the range of various accessory providers, for example for the wheels, that has reinforced and higher chassis or body parts such as the characteristic fender attachments. To this end, the concept is converted with special retrofits such as an attachable cable winch, storage compartments or a roll cage. Sports seats with four-point belts provide support in the optionally completely open and doorless Hendrick Commando Jeep.
Unlimited as a two-door
Hendrick Dynamics sees a growing market for such vehicles in disaster control, among other things, because Light, manoeuvrable and easily transportable compact all-terrain vehicles are meanwhile a dying breed in the US Army. Off-road fans are hoping for a major order - so that they can later peacefully chase a disused Hendrick Commando through the terrain.
