I n the course of the SUV boom, manufacturers are increasingly discovering luxury customers . Infiniti also wants to benefit from this and is preparing a corresponding model based on the QX80. The QX80 Monograph study was presented at the New York Auto Show 2017, which set a new design direction and also gave an outlook on a new luxury model. The new Infiniti QX80 has now been unveiled at the Dubai Motor Show.
Luxury SUV for Asia and the USA, but also Europe
As was to be expected, the production model corresponds to the Monograph study with the exception of a few nuances. The new line relies on a towering, powerful radiator grille, a beefy front apron with a stately underrun protection element, plus wide flared fenders and slit-shaped LED headlights. The windows look all around, the greenhouse is reduced overall. The C-shaped D-pillars have also received a new swing.
The QX80 is 5.34 meters long, 1.92 meters high and 2.03 meters wide. The wheelbase is given as 3.08 meters. Numerous elements made of brushed aluminum accents sit on the self-supporting body. In the study, the exterior mirrors were replaced by cameras, but the production model got conventional mirrors again. For this, the interior mirror uses an additional camera image. The lighting relies on LED components. In the wheel arches, 20 to 22-inch alloy rims were used, fitted with 275/60 and 275/50 tires. The study still wore 24 inches.
405 PS V8 petrol engine against 2.7Tons
The Infiniti QX80 is offered as a seven or eight-seater as well as with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. The third row of seats can be lowered into the vehicle floor. There is no choice in the engine. The bull is powered exclusively by a 5.6 liter V8 suction gasoline engine with 405 hp and 560 Nm. Infiniti relies on a seven-speed automatic transmission for power transmission. Roll stabilization makes the journey smoother. The trailer load is specified as 3.8 tons, the maximum trunk volume with around 2,700 liters (US standard). The 2.7-ton QX80 is expected to sprint from zero to 100 km /h in 7.5 seconds, and the top speed is 210 km /h.

The safety equipment includes an adaptive one Cruise control, a blind spot assistant, a rear impact warning, an emergency brake assistant as well as a lane departure warning and a lane departure warning. The large touchscreen in the top of the center console has also been renovated. The interior should shine with even more leather, fine wood and exclusivity. In addition, there are more and larger shelves as well as entertainment packages, USB ports and internet access for passengers in rows two and three.
With the new large SUV, the Japanese are targeting the North American market and sales regions in the Middle East. But the market in Western Europe should also be plowed by the QX80. The end of 2017 is named as the market launch. Prices are currently only available for the US version. With rear-wheel drive 64,750 dollars are required, the all-wheel drive version is available from 67,850 dollars.
