Infiniti Q50: three new engines

The new top engine with the abbreviation VR30 produces 405 hp from three liters thanks to biturbo charging and provides a maximum Torque of 475 Nm available. A second variant is the six-cylinder with 300 hp and 400 Nm torque - but this version does not come to Germany. New in the I nfiniti Q50 is also a two-liter, four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine that generates 211 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The 3.5-liter hybrid drive remains unchanged, with the combination of a V6 petrol engine and an electric motor delivering a system output of 364 hp and the 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel with 170 hp and 400 Nm.

The infotainment system and the electric steering have been revised.

All engines are combined with a newly tuned seven-speed automatic transmission and optionally with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The second generation of electric, adaptive steering is new in the V6 models. This has been revised in terms of feedback and steering feel. The range of presettable driving programs has been expanded to include the Sport + mode. The chassis of the Q50 models has also been re-tuned, the sport versions now have adaptive dampers.

Infiniti has also improved on the safety features. New on board are an emergency brake assistant, collision warning system, cross traffic monitoring, 360-degree monitoring and much more. The infotainment system, equipped with two touchscreens, also received an update.

The new Infiniti Q50 will come in the course of 2016. Prices were not mentioned.
