D Even with all premieres, car manufacturers have already been determined who skip the big German auto show: Nissan, Peugeot and the Citroën noble offshoot DS stay at home. Be that as it may, other car manufacturers are loyal to the IAA - above all, of course, the German car manufacturers, who will burn down a veritable firework of innovations at the IAA in Frankfurt 2017.

The future is electric

The highlights of the International Motor Show this year clearly include Mercedes and BMW. The Stuttgart show the AMG model Project One - a super sports car that is limited to 275 copies and costs 2.275 million euros. After all, there is not only a rare racer in return, but also over 1,000 hp and F1 technology. On the other side is also an e-car from Stuttgart, namely the Vision EQA. The study gives an outlook on a purely electric compact car that should easily achieve a range of 400 kilometers. In addition, the new Mercedes S-Class including convertible and coupé and the X-Class are coming from the Neckar to the Main.

The competition from Munich has come up with a real surprise and gave no information until the presentation. Accordingly, the BMW i Vision Dynamics also became an eye-catcher at the IAA stand. The special feature: the study, the size of a BMW 3 Series, gives an outlook on the upcoming i5 - but the Bavarians are turning their backs on the restrictive carbon chassis known from the i3 or i8.

Also still in study format BMW rolls the X7 onto the stage, a luxury SUV with hybrid technology that will initially make customers in the USA and Asia happy in its production version. The new BMW X3 and X4 are a few X sizes smaller at the IAA stand. But the BMW M5 and the new BMW 6 Series GT, which is replacing the 5 Series GT, should also inspire the public.

The Volkswagen Group is not behind the scenes with its brands. With the T-Roc, VW presents a Golf SUV, as well as the facelift of the VW Golf Sportsvan and the new VW Polo. Audi is showing its new luxury class A8 and, with the Aicon, is giving a preview of an electrically and autonomously driving A8 of the future. The new Arona can be seen at the Seat stand, the Karoq at Skoda and the new Cayenne at Porsche.
