
K lar, the VW Up was presented with great fuss and was omnipresent not only on and around the fair. At Mercedes, the B-Class should be the crowd puller, at Ferrari the 458 without a roof and Audi tried it with its own IAA house and an avalanche of innovations with 13 premieres alone.
IAA 2011 - what was needed was fascination and design
What did it bring? Relatively little, because in our reader voting after Top 5 and Flop 5, the supposed big show stars play almost no role. The question was: Fascination.
So it is not surprising when in the series models category, without exception, sporty models such as the Porsche 911 or the BMW M5 appear in the top 5. At the other end of the ranking, models such as a Seat Exeo or a Toyota Yaris appear with little emotion.
Jaguar way up front in the visitor area Favor
Fascination is also at the forefront of the studies: The Ford Evos received almost a quarter of all votes in this category, the spectacular Jaguar study took second place and even made it in the categories eco models and sports cars in first and second place - and also in the category rims the little Jaguar was able to score a lot.
