A he Californian company Gunther Werks advertises the Porsche on its website 993 as the ultimate 911: short wheelbase, little electronics and an air-cooled engine are the advantages of the last air-cooled 911. It doesn't say that a 993 Carrera 2 has too little power. On the other hand, a sports car can almost always handle more power. So Gunther Werks built a four-liter naturally aspirated engine in the rear.

Four-liter boxer with 400 hp

The 400 hp engine delivers 450 Newton meters to the rear axle via a six-speed manual transmission. Up to 7,800 rpm. turns the boxer, tuner Rothsport from Oregon builds every engine by hand and tests it on a test bench. The original six-speed manual transmission is being revised. The exhaust with a 600-cell catalytic converter ends in the middle under the rear apron, a titanium version is available as an option. The body grows three centimeters on each side. One reason for this: the front and rear tracks are 1.60 meters wide. The tuner explains that the identical track width is necessary to eliminate the understeer. The adjustable chassis comes from KW, a lift system is installed on the front axle that can raise the carbon nose by 30 millimeters.

Limited to 25 models

Manufactures roof, fenders and flaps Gunther Werks made of carbon. A total of 25 modified 993s are to be built. One of them costs 525,000 US dollars, that's around 450,000 euros.
