The Goodwood Circuit and the hill climbs

The circuit was only used for races from 1948 to 1966. Serious accidents on the demanding route led to the closure on July 2, 1966. Among other things, Stirling Moss had a serious accident here, who had to end his career after this accident. Bruce McLaren was killed 40 years ago during a test drive on the approximately 3.8-kilometer circuit.

Since 1993 the Earl of March and Kinrara has been inviting people to the Festival of Speed in his spacious park in Goodwood near Chichester, West Sussex. Since then, the races have been held as hill climbs on a 1.86 kilometer route. Since 2007 there has also been a separate competition for rally cars, which takes place on a U-shaped, 2.5 kilometer long forest path. This is where rally cars like an Opel Manta 400, Lancia Stratos and Rally 037, Audi Sport Quattro and the current rally cars compete against each other.
