Ford Germany: Herrmann takes over from Mattes

D en change The board of directors of Ford-Werke GmbH decided in its meeting on Friday (23.09.2016). Herrmann succeeds Bernhard Mattes (60), who, after 14 years of work for Ford in Germany, will move to the supervisory board of Ford-Werke GmbH on January 1, 2017.

Herrmann has been with Ford since 1979

56-year-old Gunnar Herrmann began his professional career in 1979 as a trainee at Ford. After completing his training, he studied vehicle construction in Hamburg and obtained a master's degree in advanced automotive engineering from Loughborough University in England.

In 1986 Herrmann began in the development center in Cologne-Merkenich in body construction. After an engagement in the USA, he has been in charge of various vehicle projects since 1994 and, from 2002, was responsible for Ford’s global model range in the C-segment as development director. Herrmann has been a member of the management board of Ford Europe since 2012 and is responsible for quality assurance throughout Europe as Vice President.

Also on January 1, 2017, Wolfgang Kopplin (49), Managing Director Marketing and Sales, will also take on the new role of the deputy chairman of the management of Ford-Werke GmbH and will continue to be responsible for the operational business in Germany.
