Ford F-150 SVT Raptor: Performance variant of the Ford F-150 pick-up

A building on the new F-Series generation the Raptor is powered by a 5.4-liter V8 with 320 hp. Because the Raptor should cut a sporty figure not only on, but also off the road, the chassis has been upgraded for tough off-road use with new wheel suspensions and Fox Racing shock absorbers.

Visually, the Raptor sets itself apart from its civilian brothers with a new radiator grille, a new front bumper, widened fenders with ventilation grilles and SVT logo as well as a massive underrun protection at the front.

In the interior, SVT buyers can expect a leather steering wheel and red and black interior fittings. The SVT also features 17-inch wheels with 315/70 tires, an electronic limited-slip differential, electronic stability control with a trailer program and a hill descent assistant.

The prices for the Raptor start at 38,995 US dollars ( around 30,000 euros) for the 5.4-liter V8 variant. For $ 3,000 more, the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is now also available with a new 6.2-liter V8 that delivers more than 400 horsepower (and not available until 2011 on the other F-Series trucks the market comes). All-wheel drive is standard, power is transmitted to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic.
