Fine dust in Stuttgart
Subscriptions & booklets

W ie The Stuttgarter Zeitung reports that the criminal complaint is directed against the two Green politicians, Lord Mayor Fritz Kuhn and District President Wolfgang Reimer. The complainants justify their approach with Paragraph 45 of the Road Traffic Act, according to which road traffic authorities have the right to “use certain roads and streets. . . restrict or prohibit and redirect traffic. . . to protect the resident population from noise and exhaust fumes ”.

Fine dust values higher than ever

At the Neckartor in Stuttgart, where the fine dust limit of 50 micrograms per cubic meter was exceeded on 63 days last year (35 days are allowed), greatly increased values have been measured again since the beginning of last week. Last weekend, 134 micrograms, higher values than ever before were measured outside of New Year's Eve.

Neither Lord Mayor Fritz Kuhn nor District President Wolfgang Reimer wanted to comment directly on the display. Reference was made to the measures of the air pollution control plan, which is currently being updated. City and country have excluded driving bans until 2018. Stuttgart is currently relying on the voluntary renunciation of cars when it comes to fine dust alarms.
