Fiat Fullback: The pickup will take off in autumn

A The Fiat Fullback is offered in three body versions, two equipment variants and two Motor and two transmission types. The new Fiat Fullback gets its model name from American football or rugby.

The Fiat Fullback was initially in a Launch edition with extensive standard equipment started. After the market launch, the remaining models will follow in September. In addition to the one-and-a-half and double cab, Fiat also supplies the Fullback as a chassis for individual bodies.

Fiat Fullback with Euro 6

The two turbodiesels meet the Euro 6 emissions standard and have 154 and 181 hp respectively. All model versions of the Fiat Fullback are up to 1,780 millimeters high and 1,815 millimeters wide with a wheelbase of 3,000 millimeters. The total length and the length of the loading area depend on the cabin. The dimensions are 5,275 /1,850 millimeters with the Extended Cab and 5,285 /1,529 millimeters with the Double Cab. Depending on the model, the payload is up to 1,100 kilograms.

The new pickup from Fiat is based on the fifth generation Mitsubishi L200, which was unveiled in Germany in mid-2015. Fiat only changes the front and radiator design, the rest of the body remains untouched. The changes inside are even smaller - here it is only the Fiat logo on the steering wheel that distinguishes the Fiat Fullback from the L200. The steering wheel itself as well as the entire cockpit correspond to the Mitsubishi L200.

Slightly more expensive than the L200

The Fiat Fullback starts as a one-and-a-half cabin in the SX Basis equipment variant at 26,625 euros, the basic model comes on steel wheels and includes electronic trailer stabilization, traction control and an all-wheel drive. A height-adjustable driver's seat, air conditioning and CD radio are also on board. The double cab in this equipment variant has a total of seven airbags, plus an automatic start-stop system and cruise control, it starts at 27,846 euros. This means that the fullback is significantly higher than the list price of the Mitsubishi L200, which in this variant (there: basis with technology package) is in the price list for 25,490 euros.

Other variants are LX Basis with automatic climate control, light alloy wheels, leather steering wheel,Multimadia system with reversing camera for 32,844 /34,034 euros (Extended /Double Cab), the double cab also gets a lane departure warning, light and rain sensor on the way. A package with electrically adjustable leather seats, 17-inch wheels and two-zone automatic air conditioning is available as additional equipment.

However, the equipment cannot be combined in any way: the 154 hp diesel is only available in the SX -Version with additional all-wheel drive, the 181 HP engine only in the LX version with permanent all-wheel drive and optionally the five-speed automatic the L200 from Mitsubishi will prevail. Quite a few interested parties will orientate themselves according to this criterion when deciding between L200 and Fullback.
