F iat Chrysler is working flat out to polish up and expand its model portfolio. In the next two years alone, 30 new or revised vehicles are to roll to the respective dealers, reports 'Automotive News', citing anonymous dealer sources. This should also include a new edition of the Barracuda as a convertible version.

Dodge Barracuda builds on Giulia platform

However, the cult car is not sold under the brand name Plymouth, as it was between 1964 and 1974, but under the Dodge Barracuda label. The muscle car is to be based on the new platform that already carries the new Alfa Romeo Giulia. Further details are not known at this point in time.

At the non-public meeting that took place in Las Vegas last week, dealers were also reportedly shown the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Track Hawk. The SUV is powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 - known from the Dodge Hellcat models. The unit is intended to make the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Track Hawk the fastest SUV in the world. Rumor has it that the Track Hawk will shoot to 60 mph (96.56 km /h) in 3.5 seconds. For comparison: According to the manufacturer, a BMW X5 M with 575 hp sprints to country road speed in 4.2 seconds.

Also in the works: the Fiat 124 Spider, which will also be available in a tightened Abarth version. The 124 Spider will be the first Fiat roadster since the Barchetta (discontinued in 2005). In addition, details about the next generation of the Dodge Charger became known. The vehicle is said to be similar to the 1999 Charger R /T Conept.
