Jeep brings Wagoneer back

According to the company boss, every 12th vehicle is to come from the Jeep brand by 2022, currently every 17th vehicle. This corresponds to an increase to around 3.3 million vehicles. This means that Jeep should cover a fifth of the total market and all vehicle segments of the global market. For Europe, the SUV brand will say goodbye to diesel engines, with four new electric models and 10 plug-in hybrids in the program until 2022. All existing Jeep models will be electrified from 2021.

The innovations up to 2022 include a small Jeep in the A /B segment. This should be based on the same platform as the Fiat 500 or the Fiat Panda and roll off the production line in Europe - presumably at the FCA plant in Pomigliano near Naples. Other models are: the new generation of the Jeep Renegade, a facelift of the Jeep Compass, and a new Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. There will also be a pick-up from the Jeep brand. In the D segment, an SUV with three rows of seats and in the E segment also an SUV version with a third row of seats are among the new models. Good news for fans of really big SUVs: Jeep is bringing back the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer.

Maserati is also bringing Alfieri as a convertible

Diesel engines are also being removed from the Maserati range. In addition, there should be a purely electric model to attack Tesla. The electric drives are supplied by Ferrari. The range will include a total of six new vehicles by 2022. The highlight will be the Alfieri and its convertible version. Both models will also be available as purely electric vehicles and as plug-in hybrids. In addition to a new Maserati Quattroporte, as well as the new generations of the Ghibli and Levante, Maserati will also be launching a small plug-in city SUV.

Important for fans of the Chrysler brand: it can go on living! In the run-up there had been rumors that the traditional brand from the USA could be discontinued. After all, Chrysler no longer contributes much to the group result and only has two models on offer with the Chrysler 300 and the Minivan Pacifica. IndeedChrysler will only be available in the North American market. At the same time, Marchionne Fiat will withdraw from the USA and China.

Alfa comes with GTV and new 8C

Marchionne also has an ambitious plan for the Alfa brand. There should be seven new models by 2022, including six plug-in hybrids. The highlights include the new edition of the Alfa 8C, a new GTV and two new SUVs - one in the C segment and one in the large E segment. The Alfa 8C will have a carbon monoque chassis and will be powered by a twin turbo as a mid-engine. The front axle is electrified. Overall, the 8C should have over 700 hp and complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km /h in under 3 seconds. The GTV bears the Quattrofoglio badge and stands for a balanced load distribution. Its power is said to be more than 600 hp with e-boost. The all-wheel drive model with torque vectoring offers space for four passengers.

There will also be a Giulia facelift, a Stelvio facelift, a long wheelbase version and the facelift version of the Giulietta until 2022. The Alfa Mito, however, will be discontinued.
