
1 958, at the age of 23 Ferdinand Alexander Porsche started his career as a designer after successfully completing his studies. He joined the Porsche design office, four years later he took over the management and one year later caused a worldwide sensation with the design for the Porsche 901/911. In addition to the further development of body shapes, he also devoted himself to sports car models. He created the Formula 1 racing car Type 804 and the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS.
Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See
With the conversion of Porsche KG into a stock corporation in 1971 /72 divorced FA Porsche and all other family members from the company's operational business. In 1972 Ferdinand Alexander Porsche founded the Porsche Design Studio in Stuttgart, but moved to Zell am See in Austria after only two years in Swabia. Numerous watches, glasses and other utensils were created there, which were sold under the Porsche Design brand. In addition, Porsche's team even designed household appliances on behalf of customers.
Since retiring from operational business, he has accompanied the sports car manufacturer as a partner and supervisory board. From 1990 to 1993 Ferdinand Alexander Porsche even took over the chairmanship of the Porsche AG supervisory board and remained on the supervisory board until 2005. Then his son Oliver took over the position and the designer was able to take care of the Porsche license and trading company mbH & Co. KG (PLH) founded in 2003.
Kitchens by Porsche Design
The Porsche Design brand is the focus of the company and has established itself as a luxury brand that has established the sports car name outside of the automotive industry and has won over 130 international awards since 1979 won.
