D as a spokesman for the Federal Ministry of Justice confirmed one on Monday (1.2.) Report of the 'Bild' newspaper. He referred to an EU framework decision of 2005.

From 70 euros is enforced

Anyone who has previously received a fine or - does not pay the fine, has no reason to fear prosecution. Up to an amount of 70 euros, the new draft law still provides 'that it will not be enforced,' said the spokesman. The draft law by Justice Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger (FDP), which implements EU law, had already been passed by the cabinet on January 13th.

According to the newspaper, the Justice Minister expects additional personnel costs of six Million euros for around 100 positions. This would be offset by additional fines of at least ten million.
