D he automotive adventure landscape of Essen Motor Show attracted a total of 309,800 visitors from over 30 countries in 2009. 'We have thus clearly underlined our position as the most important performance show for the tuning industry in Europe and Germany's number 1 motor sport fair,' said Frank Thorwirth, head of the Essen trade fair.
Essen Motor Show returns to its origins
In 2010 the Essen Motor Show wants to put its sporting aspect in the foreground and thus returns to the beginnings of the event. The success story of the racing car exhibition, which attracted over ten million visitors, began around 40 years ago as the largest motor sport show in German-speaking countries. In the course of the decades, the motor show turned more and more into a tuning fair and also an automobile exhibition, at which almost all major manufacturers were represented.
Motorsport and live action at the Essen Motor Show
For the extremely car-loving audience of the Essen Motor Show, motorsport is to be the focus again in 2010. A spectacular outdoor event is planned for the exhibition opening in 2010, where drivers and vehicles from the various racing series and motorsport epochs will be presented live in action. In addition, a motorsport conference is planned for racing professionals, technicians, team bosses and drivers. The concept of the coveted indoor course, the “motorsport arena” with the hot drift shows and the neighboring pit lane with 30 racing series, which proved to be the front runners in the favor of the public and a central year-end meeting point for the racing scene, will be retained.
Presentation and sales fair in Essen
The Essen Motor Show will continue to be a platform for the presentation of new series models and tuner vehicles. But in addition to the pure exhibition of the vehicles, an important part of the fair is the sale of accessories and tuning parts, such as rims, spoilers, lowering kits, stylish lamps and entertainment electronics. In addition, an area of the Essen Motor Show is reserved for classic automobiles.
