Cadillac CTS-V comes with a supercharged V8

A at the New York Auto Show 2013, Cadillac presented the new generation of the CTS, which will be launched in spring 2014. The top engine is a new V6 engine that generates 420 hp from a displacement of 3.6 liters. Compared to the Cadillac CTS-V version, however, these are power peanuts.

In the new top model, a V8 engine will do its job again, drawing power from a 6.2 liter displacement. As with its predecessor, the Cadillac CTS-V uses the Corvette and the new generation of the supercharged V8 from the Z06. The Vette has 635 hp, the Caddi would have to get by with a little less power, but be above the 564 hp of the predecessor.

BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG in the sights

Finally, the Cadillac CTS-V has to do with performance the 575 PS of the BMW M5 with Competition Package or the 585 PS of the Mercedes E63 AMG S model come close. According to rumors, the engineers are even working on a biturbo version of the V8. The new eight-speed automatic transmission will direct the power to the rear wheels. An all-wheel drive option is possible, but not yet finally confirmed.

It is clear, however, that the CTS-V comes with fat sports tires and light alloy rims in a multi-spoke design as well as a modified sports brake system. As with the 'Normalo' version of the CTS, the V version has an electronically controlled chassis, parking assistant, emergency braking system, collision warning system, ten airbags, adaptive cruise control, blind spot assistant, active pedestrian protection and various infotainment systems with touchscreen and Give internet access. Leather and aluminum finishes, sports seats and steering wheel can also be found in the new Cadillac CTS-V.
