D he Lamborghini Gallardo's career began in 2003 at the Geneva Motor Show. Like its sister model, the Audi R8, it was the first model to be developed entirely under Audi management to use a spaceframe made of aluminum and all-wheel drive. As usual, the design was angular and wedge-shaped - and successful. With the Gallardo, the production figures in Sant 'Agata soared from a tranquil 250 copies a year to around 2,000 models.

In 2005, the Italians pushed the Gallardo Spyder an open version of the athlete. The Superleggera variant followed in 2007. The second generation of the Gallardo started in 2008, and the special model Balboni was even available with pure rear-wheel drive. A constant in Gallardo's history is the naturally aspirated V10 engine, which has grown over the years from 5 to 5.2 liters and from 500 hp to up to 570 hp.

The Lamborghini Gallardo was sold by the 32 variants were created in more than 45 countries, it got its own brand cup and the super athlete even made it into the police service. The final example, a Gallardo 570-4 Spyder Performante in Mars red, is going to a private collector.

The successor to the Gallardo will be the Cabrera, which is already busy doing its test laps as a Erlk├Ânig. Its premiere could take place at the turn of the year in the USA or at the Geneva Motor Show. Then the success story should be continued.
